Deklarasi is an electropunk project from Georgetown, Penang, comprised of Ayu (voices) and Apit (electronics). What started out as solitary, rough 8-bit experimentation on obsolete technology in 2017 gradually morphed and mutated organically into an electronic project executed with a punk ethos. Like a single fractal repeating itself, multiplying into ever more intricate patterns at greater scales, only to eventually return to the initial pattern. Cold spectral transmissions, carried upon the humid tropical breeze, in the glare of halogen lights and disintegrating subcultures. A steady beat and insistent pulse of sheer will to exclaim the glory of the spirit, transposed within a consensual hyperreal hallucination. “The future is already here — it's just not very evenly distributed”. They have attempted to enframe us within the system, but we sing praises and celebrate the Chaos within the yawning chasm of the great electric void. A call to arms or a declaration of Love? You decide.
